Welcome to the Mikva Challenge Teachers’ Community Forum! 

The following Guidelines are adapted from the College Board. 

Guidelines for Engagement

  • Be professional. Engage in relevant discussions, avoid partisan political messaging.
  • Be respectful. Express opinion with civility, avoid insulting and/or offensive language.
  • Be considerate. Respect and value the contributions of others by affording them the opportunity to learn, share and grow in a non-threatening environment.

Acceptance of Agreement

The purpose of this Community is to connect with professionals who have a common interest; however, Mikva Challenge does not endorse the information posted in the Community.

Your access to and membership in the Community includes all aspects of your participation in the Community, including e-mail messages and all content created and posted within the Community (the “Community Content”). Your participation in the Community is governed by these Guidelines and you may not access, use or otherwise participate in the Community until you have read and accepted the Guidelines.

By joining the Community Forum, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to the bound by these terms while participating in this Community.


By participating in this Community Forum, a profile including your first name, last name, and email address will appear in the member directory, which can be seen by all Community members. You may choose to share a professional biography or personal image to display with your name. Your profile will be viewable only by Community members and is not shared with the general public.

No personally identifiable information that you provide in connection with your participation in the Community will be sold, traded or shared with any other persons or entities other than members of the Community and Mikva Challenge.

Discretionary Membership

Your username and password are for your use only and may not be shared or used by any other person. Keep in mind that you will be responsible for all posts and activities that are associated with your account. If your account has been accessed by someone else without your authorization, please contact Mikva Challenge’s Center for Action Civics at cfac(at)mikvachallenge(dot)org. Your membership in and access to the Community is strictly at the discretion of Mikva Challenge and may be revoked at any time without cause and without notice.

Notification of Changes

These Guidelines may be modified, changed or otherwise altered by Mikva Challenge, in its sole discretion, at any time. Any changes to these Guidelines will be posted within the Community and become effective immediately upon posting. By continuing to access the Community you are deemed to have read, understood, and agree to all revisions to the Guidelines.

Ownership of Intellectual Property Rights

By submitting resources and/ or discussion posts you acknowledge that you have obtained all necessary permissions and consents for images, video, and content that have not been created or is not owned by you. In addition, you understand that all User Content posted in the Community can be accessed and used by other Users. You are solely responsible for protecting your Content and communicating to other Users how your content may be used both inside and outside of the Community. As such, we encourage Users to place a copyright notice and/or other ‘use’ instructions directly on the shared resources.
Code of Conduct

You expressly agree that you will not upload, post, submit or transmit to, distribute or otherwise publish in the Community any materials which (i) restrict or inhibit any other user from using the Community Website, or contain a virus or other harmful component, (ii) violate any United States laws or violate or infringe any rights of third parties (including patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret rights, rights of privacy or publicity or any other proprietary right),(iii) are not appropriate or pertinent to the purpose of the Community Website or that are libelous, discriminatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive. You shall at all times respect and abide by the intellectual property rights, including but not limited to the patents, copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property and proprietary rights of Mikva Challenge.

Mikva Challenge reserves the right to determine what behavior and/or materials violate these Guidelines and to edit or remove all or any portion of any such offensive or inappropriate Content from the Community. Although Mikva Challenge may monitor postings and transmissions to the Community, Mikva Challenge is not obligated to do so and shall not be liable for any Content that is posted or generated within the Community.

Content/Activity Prohibited

The following is a partial list of the kind of User Content that is illegal or prohibited in the Community. Mikva Challenge reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in Mikva Challenge’s sole discretion, violates these terms; such actions may include removing the offending User Content from the Community and/or terminating the right of any offending user to participate in the Community.

Prohibited Content includes, but is not limited to User Content that, in the sole discretion of Mikva Challenge:

  • is patently offensive and promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
  • harasses or advocates harassment of another person;
  • exploits adults or children in a sexual or violent manner;
  • contains nudity, violence, or offensive subject matter or contains a link to an adult website;
  • promotes information that you know is false or misleading or promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, discriminatory, defamatory or libelous;
  • involves the transmission of “junk mail,” “chain letters,” or unsolicited mass mailing, instant messaging, or “spamming;’
  • furthers or promotes any criminal activity or enterprise or provides instructional information about illegal activities including, but not limited to promoting terrorism, making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone’s privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses;
  • violates any law, rule, regulation of statute, including any communications laws;
  • solicits passwords or personal identifying information for commercial, criminal or unlawful purposes from other users;
  • involves commercial activities and/or sales or marketing activities not authorized and sponsored by Mikva Challenge such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising, or pyramid schemes;
  • depicts a photograph or other image of another person posted without that person’s prior, written consent or, in the case of minors, the written consent of that minor’s parent or legal guardian.


Mikva Challenge endeavors to maintain the Community and its operation in good, working order but is not, and cannot be, responsible for the results of any bugs, viruses, deficiencies or other defects that may exist at any time on the Community Forum or its operation. Mikva Challenge expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to all implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. Mikva Challenge makes no warranty whatsoever that (i) the operation of the Community Forum will meet the user’s requirements; (ii) access to the Community Forum will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, free of viruses, worms or other harmful components, or free of defects or errors; (iii) the results that may be obtained from the use of the Community Forum will be accurate or reliable; or (iv) defects will be corrected. The user assumes the entire cost of all servicing, repair, or correction that may be necessary for your computer equipment and software as a result of any viruses, errors or any other problems whatsoever you may have as a result of visiting the Community Forum.
Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall Mikva Challenge be liable for any damages or injury, including any direct, special, incidental, consequential, punitive or other damages, that may result from access to and/or the use of, or the inability to access and/or use, the Community or any Content or other materials therein, whether in an action arising under contract, negligence or other tort. Mikva Challenge shall not be liable to you under any circumstances, even if Mikva Challenge and/or their respective, authorized representative has been advised of the possibility of such claims and/or damages or that such claims and/or damages are otherwise foreseeable. These include but are not limited to claims and/or damages or injury caused by error, omission, interruption, defect, failure of performance, delay in operation or transmission, line failure or computer virus, worm, or other harmful component.
